High Speed Interoperable Service

An High Speed Service was been launched On December 15 by France and Spain, which decided to launch a direct high speed service between the two countries.

RENFE and SNCF are now operating five trains a day each way, including two SNCF High Speed services from Paris to Barcelona, and RENFE services from Madrid to Marseille and from Barcelona to Toulouse and Lyon.

This is a very good result, thanks to a productive co-operation between the authorities, operators and infrastructure managers on both the two countries, able to work together to meet the technical challenge of High Speed railway interoperability.

The new services are carrying over 1 million passengers during 2014.
